Unlocking the Future of Corporate Training in This Ever-Changing World

Let’s admit the truth that today employees are no longer interested in attending group meetings that result in boring lectures. Many of them have started protesting against daylong seminars. As a result of this, corporate learning is shifting gears once again to meet the needs of young professionals who prefer to take corporate training in data analytics, data science and big data through micro-learning modules. Microlearning is the delivery of corporate training on new technology, processes, and equipment in short bursts. Today, microlearning is a significant aspect of employee development.

Over the past few decades, rapid advancement in technology has made corporate training modules easier to understand, more productive, and cost-effective. These days, paragraphs of instructions have been replaced by interactive illustrations, quality graphics videos, and compact textual content. Large business organizations across the world have deployed their own Learning Management Systems (LMS), a kind of application that enables the documentation, administration, tracking and reporting of corporate training events such as online events, classes, and programs.
With all these thoughts in mind, what do you think the future of corporate training in this ever-changing world will look like five years down the line? Here are just two changes and upgrades your organization might implement in the years to come.

Mobile Learning

Slowly but steadily, this method of corporate training is receiving a lot of positive attention in the shape of reviews, numerous accolades, and reliable corporate trainer followers, all thanks to the massive boom of smartphone users in the corporate realm.

One in every five people owns a smartphone reported by the Business Insider in December 2013. Also, one in every seventeen people owns a tablet.  These statistics are not just limited to one particular country, but are true across the world. If reports are to be believed, there will be around 1.46 billion tablets users by 2020. From this, we can say that this is the right time to embrace mobile learning. Mobile learning would allow young professionals to access corporate micro-learning training module videos, articles, data, illustrations, and graphics wherever they want.

On-Demand Training

Many business organizations across the world are turning to on-demand corporate training methods rather than hosting a seminar or creating poorly-made, home movie-like training videos. Today, companies are asking groups of employees or individuals to create their own good-quality training videos.  By doing this, senior team leaders or managers will not have to waste their time on repeating the same things when a new person joins the team or needs additional information regarding a particular task. After the video is created, it can be uploaded onto the company’s local network or on the LMS so that anyone working in any department can check their peer’s product or learn something new.

While micro-learning modules are not a panacea for all training needs, they can certainly play a vital role in meeting the needs of a modern learner. Also, it is true that no one can accurately predict the future of corporate training. We can only expect that it will only become better and more efficient with time.
